British Duke of Connaught met rainy and foggy weather and Frank’s solution

The third son of Queen Victoria, Duke of Connaught, visited Hong Kong on 31 March to 4 April 1890.

Chinese Prince Chun Zaifeng met hot and humid weather and Frank’s solution
Prince Chun Zaifeng was the most senior royal family member of Qing Dynasty to visit Hong Kong (24 July 1901 to 25 July 1901).

He was actually the father of the last Chinese emperor.
Hong Kong was Zaifeng’s layover stop on the way to Germany to apologize for the death of a German diplomat in Beijing during the Boxer Uprising in 1900.

We were happily surprised at how comfortable we were with our two children thru the whole day. Frank whisked us from the AC car to site to site and back to the car where the driver had water waiting. The boat ride on the harbor was my favorite stop. My kids enjoyed the Coastal Defense museum at the site of an old fort, which was an improvised stop by Frank to beat the heat. The foggy weather delayed Charlie’s cruise’s arrival at Hong Kong’s Kowloon Wharf (today’s Ocean Terminal) for 10 hours on 12 March 1936.
