Hong Kong SAR Government saves the closed Jumbo Floating Restaurant
Hong Kong Chief Executive Mrs. Carrie Lam announced the good news for Hong Kong tourism in her fourth Policy Address on 25 November 2020.
The closed Jumbo Floating Restaurant will be revived under the “Invigorating Island South” Project.
The revitalization project is made possible because the owner of Jumbo, Macau’s casino magnate Ho family, donates the closed floating restaurant to another major attraction in the Southern part of Hong Kong Island, Ocean Park.
Frank the tour guide thinks that Jumbo can create synergy with the two tertiary schools in the south Hong Kong Island, the Chinese Culinary Institute and the Hong Kong Academy of Performing Arts (Bethanie – The Academy’s Landmark Heritage Campus).
Frank is going to share his little ideas for Jumbo’s revitalization project, i.e. refitting Jumbo to be the training restaurant and performing venue.
Travelers may take the sampan ride at Aberdeen Fishing Village during Frank’s Hong Kong Island private tour to witness the restoration of the classic Jumbo Kingdom!
Will restored Jumbo become the training restaurant and performing venue?
Jumbo Restaurant, the Chinese Culinary Institute and the Hong Kong Academy of Performing Arts (Bethanie – The Academy’s Landmark Heritage Campus) all locate at the Southern District of Hong Kong Island.
Frank the tour guide thinks that Jumbo can be restored as the training restaurant and performing venue.
Thus Jumbo can be the bridge for the travelers and the student chefs and the student performers.
Jumbo can get a new role in society.
Students can achieve practice makes perfect.
Travelers can support the local students and community directly.
Actually quite a lot of local citizens remember that Jumbo’s price was high but food quality was just okay!
The young and promising student chefs may be more willing to expend their effort to make quality cuisines in the new Jumbo Floating Training Restaurant as they treasure their opportunity to make cuisines for Mainland Chinese and international travelers.
Also Jumbo was the outdoor scene for a lot of blockbuster movies.
It really looks like the ancient Chinese palace.
It is also good to see that Jumbo is refitted as a floating theatre.
The up-and-coming Cantonese opera music performers can show their singing, recitation, acting and acrobatics skills in a floating performing venue to the visiting travelers.
The above-mentioned opinions are only the little ideas from Frank, a single, lonely and poor tour guide, for the revitalization project of Jumbo Kingdom.
Frank supports Hong Kong SAR Government’s “Invigorating Island South” Project.
Frank the tour guide is really happy that he can show the interesting and famous Jumbo to clients during the sampan ride in his private tour in the future.
Clients witness Jumbo’s revival during the sampan ride in Frank’s Hong Kong Island private tour
