October 2020 work report for Frank the tour guide
Hong Kong’s weather in October 2020 got more comfortable.
Frank the tour guide went to different places to get the information for blog writing.
Frank saw the bleak Jumbo Floating Restaurant, which has closed after the riot and under the pandemic.
Frank felt the enterprising spirit at the exhibition, Striving and Transforming – The History of Hong Kong Industry, at the Hong Kong Museum of History.
Frank got the energy from the reopened lion statues of the Hong Kong Shanghai Banking Corporation (HSBC).
Frank saw Hong Kong is still very beautiful during the nice Hung Hom Central ferry ride.
Frank believes the coming travel bubble between Hong Kong SAR and Singapore is the first sign for the recovery for Hong Kong inbound tourism and hopes his private car tour service can recover in 2021.
Although this moment is bleak, Frank the tour guide believes the beautiful and enterprising Hong Kong has the energy to recover
To write a blog post to remember the fire accident of Jumbo Floating Restaurant on 30 October 1971, Frank went to Deep Bay at Aberdeen to see the closed Jumbo Floating Restaurant.
The once grand and crowded piers for taking free Jumbo Ferry ride and tourist sampan ride are now closed and bleak.
No one knows whether Jumbo, which was hard hit by the 2019 riot and 2020 pandemic, will reopen or not later.
However, Frank got back the hope from the exhibition about Hong Kong manufacturing industry and reopened HSBC lions.
The exhibition for the “made in Hong Kong” products at Hong Kong Museum of History showed the enterprising spirit of Hong Kong, which Hong Kong’s smokeless industry tourism should also have.
The reopening ceremony for HSBC lion statues, which were burnt by the radical rioters on 1 Jan 2020, further energized Frank.
Everyone can see that Hong Kong is still very beautiful during the new Hung Hom Central ferry ride.
Frank deeply believes that Hong Kong tourism will eventually recover.
The coming Hong Kong SAR-Singapore travel bubble will be the first fillip to Hong Kong’s inbound tourism industry.
