Its shape, exterior wall and gate show its relationship with its mother in Beijing.
The construction looks like a traditional tripod.
Its outer wall is covered by 3,999 yellow curved aluminum alloy plates.
The concept comes from the yellow glazed tiles of the Imperial Palace in Beijing.
The red main gate echoes the main gate of the Forbidden City.
In the 7,600 square meters museum, there are 800 exhibits from Beijing.
20% of them are the extremely valuable national treasures, which are the curios, porcelains, paintings, calligraphies etc. owned by the Chinese emperors.
The museum is an important component of the West Kowloon Cultural Area, which locates at the beautiful waterfront.
Besides Chinese royal culture, travelers can appreciate Chinese opera music at the Xiqu Center, see modern Western culture at the M+ Museum and enjoy the nice Victoria Harbor view in the new culture hub in Hong Kong.
