Hong Kong Story permanent exhibition will undergo a two-year renovation
The popular Hong Kong Story permanent exhibition of the Hong Kong Museum of History has closed for renovation on 18 Oct 2020.
The museum of history is going to write a better Hong Kong Story in the coming two years by enhancing the old and adding new post-1997 era exhibits.
Hong Kong Museum of History still has the online exhibition and is planning to have the mini-Hong Kong Story exhibition for specific topics during the renovation period at the lobby.
There are still a lot of museums in Hong Kong waiting for the travelers, especially the Singaporean travelers under the new travel bubble. (For details, please browse Hong Kong Government Museums website)
Frank the tour guide’s Kowloon private car tour and New Territories private car tour include interesting museum visit.
If clients want, made in Hong Kong Frank is eager to be clients’ docent at other museum’s exhibition hall to show you the past of his hometown.
Keep the good exhibits and add the new materials for the better “Hong Kong Story”
Hong Kong Story permanent exhibition opened in 2001.
The story begins in Hong Kong’s geography 400 million years ago and ends at Hong Kong’s reunification with China in 1997.
Frank hopes the museum can keep the essence of the exhibition, real double decker tram exhibit, traditional festive celebration scenery, Destruction of opium at Humen scene model, opium war history video etc.
It should also add new exhibits about the post colonial era after 1997.
A lot of things had happened after the handover.
Museum of History should summarize those events for the general public and travelers.
When Hong Kong Museum of History is writing a better “Hong Kong Story”, travelers, especially the Singaporean travelers under the new travel bubble, can still visit other good and interesting museums in Hong Kong.
