Changes on Hong Kong Airport, Ngong Ping Cable Car and Big Buddha
In last 4 years, Hong Kong Airport expansion project was in full steam.
It opened the mid-field concourse, which can handle 10 million passengers a year and park three Airbus A380, in 2016.
It began to reclaim land to build the third runway in 2016. The reclamation just finished in 2020.

The 55-km long Hong Kong Macau Zhuhai Bridge and the man-made island next to the airport opened in 2018.

The relaxed Ngong Ping 360 Cable Car ride does offer you the bird’s eye view of the vibrant Hong Kong Airport and the longest bridge.

From January to June 2017, the Ngong Ping 360 Cable Car had a big maintenance project to change the rope completely after 10-year of service.
Its service paused for about 6 months.
Frank the tour guide took the chance to establish a good cooperation with Lantau blue taxi driver Simon.
Simon and his friends helped to send Frank and his clients to say hello to Big Buddha by the scenic South Lantau Road.

Clients did ask Frank why the Big Buddha body, which was made by the bronze, was not shining under the sun.
Po Lin Monastery knows the answer and it just cleaned the oxides and pollutants on the body of the Big Buddha in May 2020.
As Po Lin Monastery helps Big Buddha to “take a bath”, travelers can see the Big Buddha with a clean body after Covid-19.
When travelers come back to Hong Kong after pandemic, you can see the shining Big Buddha again!
