Hong Kong Island private tour program offers YOU 4 hidden gems
Travelers and cruise passengers can see four hidden gems, two at Victoria Peak and two at Stanley, during the half day 4-hour Hong Kong Island private tour or shore excursion.
Lugard Road at the Victoria Peak for a leisure walk
Apart from enjoying the amazing Victoria Harbour view at the Lion’s Pavilion or Peak Tower, YOU may spend some times and energy to have a leisure walk on the Lugard Road, which is named after one of the Hong Kong Governors.
Lugard Road is a tree-lined and shaded path. It is easy to walk. YOU can meet many locals and expatriates, who are having exercises there.
After about 15 mins walk, YOU can arrive at a lookout point, where YOU can see the Victoria Harbour view and Hong Kong’s skyline from a new angle.
If time allows, YOU can continue the walk.
Soon, YOU can see the Western side of Hong Kong Island, which is a compact urban area with a lot of residential buildings.
See the Western side of Hong Kong Island from Lugard Road
YOU can even see the long cable-stayed Stonecutters Bridge and busy Container Port in Kowloon and the New Territories.
If you feel tired, YOU may take a rest on the old stone bench. Just beware of the mosquitoes!
Mount Kellett Road at the Victoria Peak for amazing view
If YOU don’t want to walk and have no time to do so, we can bring YOU to the Mount Kellett Road by the private car.
YOU can see the beautiful Southern Part of Hong Kong Island from a high angle.
Before having the sampan ride, YOU can see Aberdeen Fishing Village is a well-protected harbour. YOU may imagine the happy moment inside the Ocean Park.
YOU know why the Deep Water Bay and Repulse Bay have the most beautiful drives in Hong Kong and the highest housing price.
YOU see the same unbeatable view, which the rich people living nearby are enjoying everyday!
Tin Hau Temple at Stanley for making wishes
Apart from the famous Stanley Market, Stanley has other hidden gems waiting for travelers.
YOU can visit the Tin Hau Temple, which is for the fishermen to get the protection from the Goddess of the Seas.
It is one of the last evidence for Stanley’s fishing village history!
Stanley Tin Hau Temple main entrance
Inside the temple, YOU can ask different Gods or Goddesses for help and make different kinds of wishes as the temple should have the largest number of Gods in Hong Kong (ABOUT 20!!!)!
This shows Chinese people religious practices and pragmatism!
Before taking photos inside the temple for the statues and tiger skin, please remember to ask the permission from the “friendly” temple keeper!
Eight Houses near the beach at Stanley for selfie and WWII history
At the end of the Stanley Market, YOU can see eight houses near a beach.
In the 1930s, for preparing the imminent Japanese invasion, British army decided to build the batteries with big cannons at the strategic Stanley Peninsula.
They needed to resettle the native people due to the battery construction.
So British people built the eight houses for the native people.
The houses are still in use today and the residents enjoy the pretty sea view everyday.
So please don’t disturb the residents when YOU visit there!
YOU may take some photos for the houses with the English style wall and Chinese style rooftop and have a romantic walk on the beach!
As the beach has no life guard, please don’t go swimming there.
Stanley actually has three public beaches and they are good for swimming and water sports!
