In the 1930s, for preparing the imminent Japanese invasion, British army decided to build the batteries with big cannons at the strategic Stanley Peninsula.
They needed to resettle the native people due to the battery construction.
So British people built the eight houses for the native people.
The houses are still in use today and the residents enjoy the pretty sea view everyday.
So please don’t disturb the residents when YOU visit there!
YOU may take some photos for the houses with the English style wall and Chinese style rooftop and have a romantic walk on the beach!
As the beach has no life guard, please don’t go swimming there.
Stanley actually has three public beaches and they are good for swimming and water sports!
